The movie Space Jam has a close place in my heart that connects to my childhood. It features the Looney Tunes and Michael Jordan, two of my favorite personas growing up. I became an avid collector of Jordan Brand sneakers in 2007, but, in 2009, when i found out Jordan was releasing a retro (new release of an original shoe) of the Space Jam 11s (the shoe he wore in the movie), i had to get it, somehow, someway. After 2 months of saving up $200 to buy these sneakers, i woke up at the crack of dawn, drove to the mall, and waited patiently.
I got my pair, and was shocked at how well presented the shoe was. Most Jordan sneakers come in a black box with a silver top, with the Jumpman symbol on it, that opens like any other shoe box. This sneaker, however, came with a black box decorated with the writing style on the 11s. The box opened by pulling out the inside and had a blue plastic around it with a saying so well put, Hallmark would shed a tear: Tinker made them Shine. Mike made them Fly. You made them Iconic. Most sneakers in general come with a shoe stuffer of paper, but Jordan always comes with actual cardboard in the shape of the shoe. The Space Jams however came with a blue plastic shoe stuffer that literally shined. This shoe was well worth the $189.46 that i paid for them, because, even though the packeging is amazing, the shoe it self is a classic, looks amazing, and is one of the most comfortable shoes i own. I was more than happy to buy this product.
